stratospheric sloth attack

God I hate myself!

Don’t you hate yourself when you have set your mind on doing something yet get slothful when you’re about to do it? Darn, it’s stupidly hecky!

First on the roster is the wake up call. Gosh…!!! Who couldn’t relate with me on this issue. Almost everybody seems to elide the crowing clock and then burst into tempestuous jiffy behindhand because unpunctuality f***ed us up. Don’t you ever fuss on me on this ‘coz it’s not just perennial but it’s as whimsical as bathing for most of us.

Second is the laundry. I never seem to empty my laundry basket no matter how much I try washin all of ‘em. Damn! If only I can hire a laundress to take care of my laundries but I don’t entrust my apparels to anybody ‘coz they might get dilapidated. I don’t wanna go to laundry shops as well ‘coz they don’t get totally cleaned and worst sometimes our items are lost.

Next, my pen works. I’m supposed to write a film review of Dead Poets’ Society  yet till now I’m still at the second paragraph (it’s been on standby for two weeks now). Then there’s my grammar notebook; I’m trying to come up with a complete guide to basic and advance english grammar however laziness is killing me from finishing it (it’s been on standby also for six months now and it’s only 3% done -oh heck no!)

Lastly, on reading habit. Man!! I’ve bought the book The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren last january but I’ve perused only the first three chapters and the rest…..is mystery!! Plus the book of Paolo Coelho entitled The Valkyries  is eating dust in my locker… or better yet I’ll say that the dust is eating it instead.

Oh, good Lord! How can I ever brawl slothfulness?

paycheck horror

Last friday, on my way home, my wampum left is only 42 bucks and after that I’d be digging holes in my pocket. Cathy, my officemate, and I concurred to drop by SM after work… then comes the horror. Now here’s the catch, we actually went there to check our paycheck in the ATM. Usually, it gets in 2:30 in the midday so we have to wait since it’s still 1 o’clock.

First, we went eye shopping , checking on some mobile phones shops, camera stores and apparel boutiques. After strolling for about half an hour we went on surfing the net to kill time since our legs are burnt out of trekking.

More than an hour of net-surfing sufficed our wait so we’re set to check our stipend. Alas! Transaction denied???!!! First, uh… maybe Unionbank is offline so let’s go check on the other ATM. Alas! Transaction denied still!!! Our paycheck hasn’t been loaded yet probably so let’s try again later at 3:30.

Now this is so funny. I only had two pesos left after net-surfing and cath had fourteen. Ha ha ha… And we’re so hungry so Cath told me that we should’ve bought our money with food instead of internet… now we’re real starving… calling the aid of United Nation!!

Luckily, there’s an ethnik bar in the foodcourt which sells cheap native snacks so we were able to buy two turon na saging worth five pesos each. Thank God famine , at least, cutback a bit.

At 3:35 we went on checking again… but alas!… again… yes again… transaction denied! Eli, the IT director, was on the queue so we asked him if the paycheck has been loaded, he said yes and that it has been loaded since 10 in the morning. Now there’s really something wrong with Unionbank. The guard told us that eon payroll systemOffline_unionbank is down, it’ll be back transacting tomorrow.

Now the real horror comes in. Cath only had four pesos left and I had two. We can’t eat, we can’t go home… what are we gonna do?! Thank God I saw Chona, also my officemate, and I was able to borrow money just so we can go home. Thank God it’s friday… but maybe I can as well say ohmigod it’s friday, can’t I?

I swear I will never leave home without excess cash again ever. And I will never leave my wallet blank even if I’m expecting a pay-out ‘coz we never know the consequences. Now this is a moral lesson, isn’ it?

music lifestyle… then and now

Today, at exactly 1:31 between noon and evening as I size up the music video of Nina in MTV , I recall as a 10 year old boy I keep a tab on MTV, which used to be aired at studio 23 until it was replaced by MYX, whenever I’m off-school. To me it’s a cup of tea, nothing can ever make my day but watching MTV.

I can as well remember how crazily funny I was in taking down all the albums I wanted to have. It’s grotesquely funny ‘coz I think there are more than a hundred albums I have in my list grouped in seven- I’ll buy all seven together. The absurd part is none, not even a single copy, were ever purchased ‘coz I never had ample cash to buy even any one of ‘em. Ridiculous, isn’t it?

Now my frustrated addiction on buying albums have perished. Moreover, all those albums I planned to buy are either sold-out or hard to find. In addition, cassette is out, CD is in. And the inauspicious thing is they’re uneconomical (at least to me) even if my stipend can manage. As a result, I opt to buying OPM albums instead since they’re way much cheaper plus they’re quite great songs.

Nowadays, MTV is much less of an importance and their programming has evolved from all music to partly a reality-tv which I like less. Hence, a lot of foreign hits are genuinely foreign to my eardrums (you know what I mean, don’t you?). Radio is quite invisible in our house so can’t really track on the latest hits these days. But I do know some though.

Anyhow, nothing has changed much on my love for music. I still sing a lot and listen when I do have the time. However, when before I use to say music is my life… well, that I think changed ‘coz I believe it’s more apropos to say music will always be a part of my life.
